Technical Advisor for Reno
John advises on the architecture and technical direction of Reno's floor planner, helping solve the geometry, rendering and interaction challenges behind modelling real-world spaces.
John Walley is Reno's Technical Advisor, specialising in data visualisation, interactive geometry and complex spatial systems. With a background spanning scientific research, mathematical modelling, engineering and software development, he helps bridge the gap between deep technical complexity and practical product design.
Much of John's career has focused on solving difficult visual and spatial problems in code, particularly around interpreting and representing real-world movement, dimensions and geometry on screen. His experience includes developing object tracking algorithms, motion capture systems, LIDAR simulation tools and large-scale data visualisation applications across scientific and engineering environments.
Alongside his research and technical work, John is an experienced software engineer with expertise across JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C++, Python and a range of data-intensive and performance-critical technologies. He is particularly interested in the intersection of mathematics, interaction and visual problem solving.
