More ex-display kitchen sales with fewer "will it fit?" enquiries for Rehome

Rehome helps customers buy high-quality ex-display kitchens for less, giving showroom kitchens a second life in new homes.

Their team was hearing one question again and again:

"How do I know if this kitchen will fit my space?"

Because ex-display kitchens are dismantled into individual units rather than flatpacked, they can usually be reconfigured to suit a customer's room. But customers still needed confidence. They wanted to see how the units could work in their own space before taking the next step.

That's where Reno comes in.

In September, 2025, Rehome added Reno's whitelabel solution to their website, giving customers a simple way to pre-plan, test layouts and check whether an ex-display kitchen could work for their home.

Customers can now:

  • Open a specific Rehome listing in its current configuration and test it in their own space
  • Enter room measurements and map key features such as windows and doors
  • Reposition units to explore realistic layout possibilities
  • Add tiles, flooring and other visual details
  • See how the kitchen could fit, before committing to buy

The experience helps customers answer one of the biggest buying questions themselves, at their own pace, while keeping them engaged on Rehome's website and closer to purchase.

The result?

Ex-display kitchen sales have increased, while the team has seen fewer basic "will it fit?" enquiries.

That's a positive shift. Many of those early conversations were practical fit-checks rather than high-value sales discussions. Now, customers can answer those questions themselves online and build confidence before contacting the team.

That means the Rehome team spends less time helping people work out whether a kitchen could fit, and more time supporting better-prepared buyers who are ready to move forward, though the calls are still very welcome.

As Helen Lord, founder of Rehome, put it:

Ex-display kitchens represent outstanding value, but the biggest hurdle is almost always the same: certainty that the kitchen will fit the space and can be reconfigured to suit it. The new planning tool enables customers to take a specific Rehome kitchen and quickly understand how it could work in their own home. By funding this experience as part of our platform, we're removing friction from the ex-display resale journey and supporting more confident, informed purchases.

The tool is also expected to shorten decision cycles and support quicker resale of ex-display stock, benefiting the retailers whose display kitchens enter the Rehome marketplace alongside giving those kitchens a more sustainable second life.

What's next?

As the Rehome team put it:

We integrated Reno into our customer journey initially to help our ex-display kitchen customers establish whether the kitchen would fit in their home. It's been such a success that we're now working with Reno to launch self-serve digital sales of new kitchens via our partners using the platform too.

By giving customers a way to plan earlier and answer key fit questions themselves, Rehome is making the kitchen buying journey easier for both customers and the team. Customers get more confidence before they enquire, and the team spends less time answering basic fit questions and more time helping serious buyers move forward.

For retailers selling ex-display, clearance or reconfigurable kitchens, Reno can turn uncertainty into action by helping customers see what's possible in their own space.
